Weekly Update – 6/9/19
If you don’t already know how important it is to take back the Senate next year, please stop by the State Capitol tomorrow during the day. Indivisible Sacramento has created an eye-catching display: Hundreds of cardboard tombstones will be standing on the South lawn, each one representing a good, progressive bill passed by the House of Representatives this year that has been blocked from a vote in the Senate by Mitch McConnell. We want people to be fired up about our mission for the next year and a half. Yes, we want to throw Trump out of office, but it’s just as important to take back the Senate.
Meeting – June 19th Our next meeting is Wednesday, June 19th, and we’re pleased that Assembly Member Kevin McCarty is joining us as our guest speaker. Assembly Member McCarty is one of the most progressive legislators in California, and we very much enjoyed hearing from him last summer when he joined us previously. We hope you can make it and have a chance to interact directly with one of our elected officials. That’s Wednesday, June 19th, at 7:00 in Room 10, Sierra2 Center, 2791 24th Street. Debate Watch Party Whether you know who you’re supporting in the presidential primaries, or whether you’re still deciding, you won’t want to miss the first two primary debates on June 26th and 27th.Why not watch with us? Indivisible Sacramento is joining in a debate watch party both nights with Sacramento Mighty Oaks at Kupros Craft House (you may remember Kupros as the place where we held our election party last November). We’ll be there starting at 5:30 p.m. both nights. The address is 1217 21st Street in Midtown. Text Training Our next Pizza and Politics event is coming up at the end of the month. Not only will we have pizza and drinks, we also have a chance to learn how to Text bank like the pros. Texting is a great and easy way to reach voters, and we plan to do a lot of it next year. So join us for a crash course on June 30th at 1:00 p.m at the Round Table Pizza at 1566 Howe Ave. Pizza! Beer (or sodas)! Friends! Texting! What more could you want? Election Activities And it’s not just texting – there are plenty of ways you can make an impact on the upcoming elections this summer. Write postcards, knock on doors, and more. You can find opportunities to do all of these things at our website. Just go to Indivisiblesacramento.comand click on the “Events” tab. Please get involved this summer – it is never too early! |
The “GRAVEYARD” is one of the most powerful visuals ever created to illustrate a political issue –
(Particularly since Mitch McConnell has called himself “The Grim Reaper”)
Since “One Picture is worth 1,000 Words” – Why is there no photograph on this website?
If that is not possible – please provide a “link” to this Photo if it exists elsewhere online.
“Graveyard” is a POWERFUL IMAGE that could be replicated in many communities all over USA.
Indivisible Sacramento should receive recognition for creating this “Graveyard,”
Please make Photos available to as many people as possible!

We actually do have photos of the graveyard up on the website, along with digital copies of the bills and the headstones for people to replicate. It’s under NEWS DIGEST. https://indivisiblesacramento.com/news/
