Weekly Update – 2/10/20
Republicans in the U.S. Senate failed to convict Donald Trump today, a decision that is at the same time morally reprehensible and completely unsurprising. We can take comfort in the fact that we pushed our elected leaders to hold a corrupt president accountable, and we further exposed his toadies in the Senate. Now it’s up to us to make sure all of his apologists lose their re-election efforts this fall.
Senate Tombstone Event
Speaking of the Senate, we are bringing back one of our most popular events from last year: the Senate graveyard. We are putting together hundreds of “tombstones” for a public display to remind the public how much progress Mitch McConnell’s Senate is preventing. The purpose is to build public support and encourage people to get involved in flipping the Senate this fall.
Please join us on Sunday, February 9, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Round Table Pizza, 3005 Freeport Blvd., to assist in assembling the Senate Graveyard which will be on display downtown next Monday and Tuesday.
Our next meeting is the third Wednesday of February, February 19th, at 7:00 p.m. As usual, it will be held at Sierra 2 Center, Room 10. The address is 2791 24th Street.
Upcoming Events – See our Website for these and other ways to get involved!
