Weekly Update – 2/17/20
Our meeting is this week. Join us on Wednesday at the regular time (7:00 p.m.) at the regular place (Room 10, Sierra 2 Center). We’re pleased to have a special guest from Flip the West who will be talking about the campaign to turn House seats blue this year. In case you’ve never been to our meeting at Sierra2 Center, the address is 2791 24th Street. See you there!
Of course, you don’t have to wait until Wednesday to get together. We have a dedicated team of activists putting on our Senate graveyard display again tomorrow (Tuesday February 18th), and we could use your help with hosting the table. The display consists of over a hundred tombstones, each one representing a law that the blue House passed but Mitch McConnell’s Senate has held up. The idea is to show just how important it is to flip the Senate this fall. So please come out to the Capitol grounds on 15th and N streets if you can help, or at least stop by to show support. We’ll be there from 8:00 – 4:00 tomorrow.
Our friends at Indivisible Yolo suggest calling our representatives and asking them to investigate Attorney General Barr and his blatant enabling of Trump’s corruption. Please take some time to call this week. Ask your House of Representatives member not to approve any funding for Attorney General Barr’s office until he recuses himself from any investigation involving Donald Trump or his Administration. And please call our Senators and ask them to continue to call for investigations into Barr’s conduct, and to deny unanimous consent on all Senate business until he recuses himself.
