Weekly Update – 4/6/20
Hello friends
Our April meeting is scheduled for Wednesday the 15th. We cannot meet in person, but we will be going forward with a meeting on Zoom. We will send the call details early next week. Hope you can join us! California State Strong It’s springtime in California, and that means its time again to start paying attention to the bills our state lawmakers are working on in Sacramento. The Coronavirus crisis has thrown a giant monkey wrench into everything, and it’s possible that many non-virus-related bills won’t go very far this year. Still, California State Strong (Indivisible’s state advocacy arm) needs to hear from you about what our state priorities should be. State Strong has compiled a list of potentially interesting bills. You can view the list, including short summaries at this site, then vote for the ones you think should go forward. Please vote by April 26th. Coronavirus Response It’s urgent that we continue to contact our Members of Congress. Please visit Indivisible’s website for details on our national Coronavirus asks. We want to make sure that Congress prioritizes people and not corporations in their economic aid. And we need to make sure they hold the Administration accountable for its failures and corruption. 2020 Coalition Text Banking The 2020 Coalition is doing some great work locally. Even though we’re stuck at home, we can still do plenty of work to help win the November elections. A great way to reach voters is by text message. Please take the text message training to get started. Text Bank Training, Level 1 – Every Wednesday at 7:00 – 8:30. Sign Up Here. If texting isn’t your thing, why not write letters to voters? If it is your thing, but you want to do even more, then writing letters is for you too! Write letters to voters – Every Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00. Sign Up Here. |
