  • 8/21: INDIVISIBLE Sacramento General Meeting: 7pm, Sierra 2 Community Center, 2791 24th St., Rm. 10. Speaker: Holly Cooper, Co-director of the UCD Immigration Law Clinic and Autumn Gonzalez of NorCal Resist.
  • 8/21: Lobby Day with the CA Dreambuilder Alliance: 8am, State Capitol.  Indivisible CA StateStrong is part of the California Dreambuilder’s Alliance, a coalition of over 80+ progressive organizations that work together to pass progressive legislation in Sacramento. Several of our bill priorities align with the alliance and the coalition is holding a lobby day on Aug 21st. They’ll be lobbying on two of our priority bills (AB 1482 & SB 136) as well as two other (AB 37 & AB 1066). This is a great opportunity to have the empowering experience of lobbying legislators in the capitol, demonstrate our partnership with the progressive community in California, and make new friends!   • 8/26: Lobby Day with CA Public Banking Alliance: 9am, State Capitol. Join this alliance as they lobby on AB 857, which is one of our StateStrong Priority Bills. This bill squeaked through its last committee hearing so it needs all of the support that it can get.  Join them as they would welcome additional participation from StateStrong.   • 8/28: INDIVISIBLE Primary Postcards to CA-50: 7pm – 9pm, Colonial Heights Community Room in Colonial Heights Library, 4799 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento. Come write postcards to get “primary skippers” to the polls in CA-50 for the March 3 primary election.
  • 8/29: Rapid Response & Accompaniment Training: 6pm – 7:30pm, Elk Grove Library, 8900 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove. Training to assist asylum seekers in the area to get to legal and court dates, ICE check-ins, doctor and other appointments, or to assist with finding and applying for jobs, school, or other programs. This training will also cover our rapid response to ICE program and certify you to be a rapid responder. Hosted by NorCal Resist.
