5/19 – MESSAGING THE ELECTION with Dan Pfeiffer: 6pm – 7pm, Zoom. Join Swing Left East Bay and The Bay Area Coalition for the first event in a speaker series on messaging. Dan Pfieffer, one of the nation’s experts on messaging is kicking off our series with a discussion about how to combat the lies and disinformation streaming from Right-Wing Media.

5/21 – CANVASS FOR DAVE JONES AND ALANA MATHEWS: 10am – 1pm, CADEM headquarters, 1830 9th St. Canvass with Democratic Party of Sacramento County in support of Dave Jones for State Senate D8 and Alana Mathews for Sacramento County District Attorney. REGISTER HERE.

5/21 – SISTER DISTRICT “MEET THE CANDIDATE” MEETING: 2:30pm – 4pm, Zoom. Join our friends at Sister District Sacramento to meet Darrin Camilleri, their newly adopted candidate for the Michigan State Senate, District 4. You’ll also hear about all of the exciting SDP events and activities coming up. 

5/21 – JUMPSTART FOR THE WEARY ACTIVIST: 5pm – 6pm, Zoom. Join our friends at Field Team 6 for a workshop addressing strategies for remaining positive and active through the political adversity and general chaos we face every day. Joyful activism is what defines Field Team 6, and with this workshop they want to spread it around!

5/23 – INDIVISIBLE SACRAMENTO SPRING SOCIAL: 5:30pm – 8pm, Oak Park Brewing Co. (3514 Broadway, Sacramento). It’s time for another in-person gathering, food and drink on us! We’ve got a lovely outside catered venue booked that’s both lots of fun and also Covid-sensible. This party is funded by our friends at INDIVISIBLE NATIONAL so that Indivisibles nationwide have a chance to recharge our batteries for the many fights ahead! RSVP HERE. 5/28 – LINCOLN CANVASS FOR CADEM ENDORSED CANDIDATES: 11am – 3pm, Lincoln. Join CADEM volunteers as they canvass Lincoln neighborhoods to contact voters to GOTV (Get Out the Vote) in support of their endorsed Democratic candidates. This event is sponsored by the Community Engagement Committee of the Placer County Democratic Party Central Committee.

6/1 – SENIOR AND DISABILITY FORUM and CALL TO ACTION: 1pm – 3pm, Zoom or in person (for in-person, vaccine and mask required and must register by May 27 to 510-663-4086/ cynthial.cara@gmail.com) Learn about proposals to cut and privatize Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and how you can help to protect them; Join with other organizations in Sacramento and Yolo Counties to magnify your voice on these and other important senior and disability issues. 6/3 – SISTER DISTRICT YOGA IN THE PARK: 10am – 12 noon, Folsom City Lions Park. Join our friends at SDP as they gather for relaxing yoga, cookies and lemonade … all to raise money for Sister District Sacramento’s Michigan Democratic Candidate Darrin Camilleri. $35 donation required. REGISTER HERE.

SACDEMS PHONEBANK FOR ALANA MATHEWS: Tuesdays, 5:30pm – 8pm. Volunteers will be meeting virtually over Zoom and calling Democratic voters in Sacramento County from the comfort & safety of our own homes. There will be a short training at 5:30 PM, and then making calls from 6 to 8 PM. THIS ELECTION WILL BE DECIDED ON JUNE 7 – THERE ARE ONLY TWO CANDIDATES, AND ALANA IS THE SacDem and INDIVISIBLE SAC-endorsed candidate!
 
SDP MICHIGAN CANDIDATE PHONEBANKS: Wednesdays, 2:30-5pm PDT beginning May 1 and Saturdays, 10am-12pm PDT beginning June 4. Virtual event – Join from anywhere. Help elect Democrat Darrin Camilleri and drive votes up the ticket to reelect Governor Whitmer and elect a Democratic Secretary of State.
 
Virtual Phone Bank Wed or Sat to AZ, NV, or CA: Every Wednesday 5pm – 7pm and every Saturday 10am – 12 noon. Join SwingLeft to help turn out voters for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. A phone bank is a great way to reach voters and talk about issues we all care about. Our phone banks are all about the Midterm Elections! 
 
CANVASS WITH BAY AREA COALITION IN CENTRAL VALLEY: Every Saturday from 9:30am – 3:30pm. San Rafael. The Bay Area Coalition needs your help registering voters in Central Valley CD 13 and CD 22-from Modesto to Bakersfield. There are over 100,000 eligible unregistered voters. We will be going door-to-door to identified potential Democratic voters.
 
CANVASS WITH THE PLACER DEMS: Every Saturday from 9:30am – 1pm. Join CA DEMS as we canvass our Placer neighborhoods to contact our fellow Democratic voters and encourage them to complete their mail-in ballot.
 
DOOR-TO-DOOR VOTER REGISTRATION IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY: Every Saturday from 9:30am – 4:30 pm. CA Dems need your help registering voters in Central Valley CD 13 and CD 22, from Modesto to Bakersfield. There are over 100,000 eligible unregistered voters. Join Contra Costa Democrats in going door-to-door to identified potential Democratic voters.
 
PHONE BANK – ARIZONA, NEVADA, CA CENTRAL VALLEY: Every Wednesday, 5pm, Zoom. Join Contra Costa Democrats as they talk to voters about Democrats up and down the ticket in Arizona, Nevada and CA’s Central Valley. 
 
POSTCARDING WITH ACTIVATE AMERICA: Activate America provides voter addresses and scripts to volunteers to send handwritten postcards to voters. They offer post-carding year-round, either focused on amplifying important messages (like the many good things in the Infrastructure and Jobs Act) or focusing on key election goals and deadlines (like registering to vote or deadlines to vote-by-mail). 
 
POSTCARD WITH RECLAIM OUR VOTE: Reclaim Our Vote is asking you to write to registered voters of color to encourage them to vote in the approaching primary. We find if voters vote in the primary they are more likely to vote in the election. We all need these votes for the midterms! Please contact Sue Jones in Sacramento at rov.sacvalley@gmail.com and she will get your order together and tell you her address when your packet is ready for you on her porch. She is asking $1 per 20 names (they come 20 to a page). THIS IS TIME SENSITIVE – MUST BE COMPLETED BY MAY 5.
 
HOLDING POWER ACCOUNTABLE PHONEBANK WITH COMMON CAUSE: Multiple times and dates. Join our friends at Common Cause as they voters in targeted states to connect them to their Senators to drive calls of accountability and appreciation around the vote on the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act. 
 
SOCIAL MEDIA STORM: FIELD TEAM 6: Each Wednesday at 11am, Field Team 6 hits the web to raise awareness for their efforts to register Democrats and save the world. Storm any time on your own (tools here) or join our Wednesday storm on Zoom for some socializing and training to develop mad storming skills! POSTCARD TO REGISTER VOTERS IN KEY STATES: Join our friends at Field Team 6 to write postcards to register likely Democratic voters in key states. You can do this on your own or join a weekly virtual writing group.
