Phone banking is the gold standard of voter outreach. Tried and true, talking to voters on the phone is second only to canvassing when it comes to mobilizing voters for an election. And in this age of COVID-19 when canvassing is not an option, phone banking just moved up to first place. Phone banking is cheaper and easier than postcards or texting – so all campaigns do it.
It’s not hard to find a phone bank that needs you, and they are all done virtually now from your own home. Phone bankers are always in high demand: ANY CAMPAIGN THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING WILL HAVE A PHONE BANKING LINK ON THEIR WEBSITE. Some phone banks are like a “party” with a Zoom call of callers meeting at a scheduled time, and some are “do it yourself” commitments that you complete on your own schedule. “WINDIVISIBLE” PHONE BANKING – If you want to make an impact on voter turnout, and get started right away, phone banking is the tool for you! Sign up for a phonebanking shift to support work in key races across the country and share information with voters on how they can safely cast their ballot.
CADEM Swing State Sunday – 1pm each Sunday. Each Sunday, they will be calling into one or two states for Democratic candidates for the Senate. They will provide you with training for the online phone bank, if you need it, and also information about the candidate and the political climate.

RECLAIM OUR VOTE PHONE BANK: Sundays, 1-2 pm: 2020 Coalition makes calls to voters in Southern States with Reclaim Our Vote to make sure they can exercise their right to vote. In the future, we may also be making calls for Senate candidates in North Carolina, Georgia and Texas. Can’t join us on Sundays? High School Student Phone Bank to Win Michigan (all welcome!): Wednesdays 2-4 pm. Join Sacramento area high school students and Sister District Project Sacramento volunteers in phone banking for Michigan State House Representative candidate Christine Morse. FLIP THE WEST PHONE BANK: Mondays and Thursdays, 4-6 pm: Help Flip the Senate Blue with Flip the West and Commit to Flip Blue by calling Newly Registered Democrats in Arizona. Reach out to new voters who haven’t requested an absentee ballot and urge them to sign up to vote by mail and to vote in the August 4th primary. Can’t make these times?
