Weekly Update – 11/20/18
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Indivisible friends. We have a lot to be thankful for, including a new Congress that will finally stand up to Trump and a massive network of hard-working Americans who will keep the resistance going next year and beyond.
Meeting on November 28th
Hopefully you already saw that our November meeting is moved to the fourth Wednesday of the month (11/28), since our meeting space is not available the night before Thanksgiving. We are now pleased to announce that this will be a Very Special Meeting, as our friends from the Elk Grove Indivisible group are joining us to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished this last year.
We’re going to get started early – the room is open as soon as 5:30, but please stop by whenever you can make it. The first hour or so will be a meet and greet/mixer for people to relax and socialize (plus we’ll be bringing snacks). Then at 6:30, we’ll do a recap of the midterm elections. Finally, at 7:00, we’ll have our regular Indivisible monthly meeting, featuring a guest speaker from The Sacramento Kindness Campaign.
Join us whenever you can make it – we want this meeting to be fun, and it is meant to be a special thank you to all of you for your tireless efforts this year. As usual, our meeting is in Room 10 at Sierra2 Center, 2791 24th Street.
NorCal Resist Pozole Fundraiser
You can help raise money for refugees in need by attending NorCal Resist’s Pozole Fundraiser on December 1st. The event will be held at Arden Church of the Nazarene (3337 Arden Way) starting at 6:00. Purchase Tickets here!
The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is “Giving Tuesday,” a date to donate to those who are in need. There are so many worthy causes that need your help, and we hope you will be able to give something this year. If you can spare some money, Indivisible Sacramento accepts online donations through our Act Blue page.
Finally, a reminder to check out our website every chance you get! The address is www.indivisiblesacramento.com.
Thank you, and see you next Wednesday evening!
