Weekly Update 1/7/19
Hello, Friends.
Have you marked Saturday morning on your calendar yet? That’s when YOU have a chance to elect Assembly District Delegates (“ADEMS”) to the state Democratic Party. Indivisible Sacramento’s very own Regina Banks is running in District 9 (South Sacramento/Elk Grove) along with Elk Grove Indivisible leaders Dennessa Atiles and Nancy Castignetti. They’re all part of the Labor-Progressive slate of candidates, and they need our votes so that we can help hold the state party accountable to people like us, and not to big money or party insiders. You just need to be a resident of the district and a registered Democrat (or be willing to register as one). District 9 – (Southern Sacramento and Elk Grove) – Election this Saturday, 1/12 at 10:00 – Bakers Union Hall, 7125 Governors Circle, Sacramento There is a Labor-Progressive slate running in almost every local district, including Assembly Districts 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9. If you’re not sure which district you are, you can find your State Assembly district here. Next Meeting We’re pleased to welcome County Supervisor Phil Serna as the guest speaker for our next monthly meeting. Supervisor Serna will be joining us to talk about important local issues at 7:00 p.m. next Wednesday, January 16th. As usual, we’ll be in Room 10 at Sierra2 Center, 2791 24th Street. Postcard Party! Do you miss our postcard parties? You might have thought they were over, but they are not! This year, we’re working with Sister District to help make progress in states that have legislative elections this year, including Kentucky, Virginia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. We’ve reserved a meeting room at First United Methodist Church downtown (corner of 21st and J Street) on the evening of January 24th. More details will be provided as soon as we have them. |
