Weekly Update
5/21/18
Hello, Friends.
The midterm elections are priority number one for us right now. With the June 5th primary just a couple weeks away, we need to get busy. Fortunately, we have a chance to help tomorrow. Join us at Arcade Library on Marconi Avenue for a Postcard Party. We’re going to fill out postcards for voters in the 10th Congressional District to make sure they turn out in support of the Democratic candidate this fall. We all need to do our part to help take back Congress, and this is a good way to start. The Library is at 2443 Marconi Ave, and we’ll be meeting at 7:00. Lobby Day – May 29th Mark next Tuesday on your calendar. Indivisible and some other local groups will be visiting the Capitol building in support of a couple of very important bills. SB 822 is the Net Neutrality measure that our membership overwhelmingly endorsed this spring (it was the most popular state bill by far). AB 3131 is a measure that Indivisible co-sponsored with the ACLU to prevent police departments from acquiring military equipment. We’ll send details, including a meeting time and place, soon. For now, we hope you’ll plan on joining us if you have free time during the day on Tuesday. Reminders We meet on the third Wednesday of every month. Our next meeting will be June 20th at 7:00 p.m. As usual, it’s at Room 10 at Sierra2 Center, 2791 24th Street. Remember to check our website often. It’s at indivisiblesacramento.com. There’s a ton of information there, including all of our upcoming events. And there’s also a big button you can click if you want to donate some money to us. Finally, remember to vote on June 5th! The primary election is crucial. Not only are we choosing our Senate and Governor candidates, but the actual election for many local races (including Sheriff and District Attorney) is that date. If you live in Sacramento County, you should have received your ballot in the mail by now. Thank you. See you tomorrow evening! |
