Weekly Update 5/29/18 Hello, friends. Please call Senator Richard Pan tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and tell him to vote YES on Senate Bill 822. SB822 would establish crucial protections for Net Neutrality. The bill is ready for a vote by the full Senate this week, but a number of Senators are still on the fence, including Sacramento’s very own Senator Pan. When Indivisible Sacramento took a vote on supporting State legislation, this was the most popular bill. We care deeply about this issue, and it’s important for California to set an example for the nation on Net Neutrality. It is up to us to save the internet! Children at the Border By now, you’ve probably heard the heartrending stories about children as young as 18 months being cruelly taken from their families at the border. We are not going to sit idly by and allow this. Here’s what you can do to help:
Mixer at Kupros Bistro We work hard here at Indivisible Sacramento, but sometimes we need to relax and have a little fun. That’s why we’re getting together at Kupros Bistro on Monday, June 11th for a drink and a little pleasant conversation. We’ll have plenty to talk about, since this is just a few days after the June 5th primary election. We might manage to get a little work done too, maybe do some brainstorming of ideas for group activities or plan some events. But the important thing is that you join us and have a good time! Kupros is located at 1217 21st Street in Midtown. We have reserved the room on the second floor, so just head on upstairs when you get there. |
