Weekly Update – 7/29/19
Hello Friends.
The second round of primary debates happens this week, and we’d love for you to watch them with us. This time we’ll be at Mango’s in Midtown (the address is 1930 K Street). The debates start at 5:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and we’ll be there as soon as 4:30. Just like last time, we’ve arranged to donate a portion of the food and drink sales to a good cause. This time it’s the Sunrise Movement. So even if the food, drink, and great company isn’t enough to get you to join us, maybe the good cause is the icing on the cake. California Away Team August 11th is our Special Day with California Away Team. We want you to volunteer every weekend if you can, but August 11th is the day we’ve chosen to show just how eager Indivisible Sacramento is to get started on the 2020 elections. We’ll be in Cameron Park to reach out to voters starting at 10:00 on August 11th. To get the exact address, please RSVP at the event page with CalAway Team. Can you Host an Asylum-Seeker? Have you been wondering what you can do to help immigrants who are being terrorized under this administration? Do you have a little bit of extra space in your home? NorCal Resist has an immediate need for both short and long-term housing for an asylum seeker and for a woman who was recently granted asylum. If you are interested, please e-mail norcalresist@gmail.com to find out more. Next Meeting Our meetings are the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. That means our August meeting will be on the evening of Wednesday, August 21st. The focus will be immigration. As usual, we’ll be at Sierra2 Community Center, 2791 24th Street, Sacramento. In the meantime, make sure you keep checking our website for news on all of our upcoming events https://indivisiblesacramento.com/events/. And if you have some extra money to send our way, we always greatly appreciate donations. |
