Fundraising to support NorCal Resist’s work on behalf of immigrants
NorCal Resist is a grassroots organization that has been on the front lines of providing direct assistance to migrants both here in the greater Sacramento area, and at the border. NorCal Resist ensures that these families and individuals have the necessary support they need to thrive in their new home. They provide: groceries, clothing, and other necessities; funding for legal assistance and work permit applications; rent assistance for LGBTQ+ asylum seekers; toys and school supplies for asylum seeking children; and give countless rides to immigration court, ICE, doctors, schools, and other appointments.
Fundraising makes this work possible, and Indivisible Sacramento is helping to raise funds by sponsoring NorCal Resist’s annual Pozole Dinner on December 14th! Please consider supporting this effort with your direct donation to Indivisible Sacramento, and please also show your support by joining NorCal Resist’s volunteers and allies at this great event! RSVP (or donate directly to NorCal Resist) at this link.
Postcards We need postcard writers! California’s 50th Congressional District, currently represented by indicted Congressman Duncan Hunter, is one of the most important races on the ballot next year. We’re writing postcards twice a month to turn out voters. Please join us on October 23rd at First United Methodist Church (21st and J Street downtown) at 7:00 to write some postcards. We promise it will be fun! |
