WEEKLY UPDATE

Weekly Update 8/28/18

Please note: our September meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 18th, not Wednesday the 19th. We will be in a different room, the Curtis Hall, instead of Room 10.

We are pleased to announce that our guest speaker will be California Secretary of State Alex Padilla! We hope you can be there to see him talk about voting in California – just in time for the fall election season. The meeting time remains the same: 7:00 p.m.

Our meetings are normally held the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Sierra2 Center for the Arts and Community, 2791 24th Street.

Postcard Party, Friday 8/31

You don’t have to wait until our monthly meeting to get involved. Join us this Friday (August 31st) for a postcard party! The party starts at 7:00 in the community room at Belle Cooledge Library on South Land Park Drive. This time we’ll be writing postcards for voters in the 7th Congressional District (home to many members of Indivisible Sacramento) where Democrat Ami Bera is in a close re-election race against a conservative challenger. To win back Congress, we need to defend seats as well as win new ones, so please come join us if you can make it.

Nevada Senate Strike Team

What could possibly be more fun than writing postcards? How about a road trip to Reno to help flip Nevada’s Red U.S. Senate seat?

We’re heading to Reno in September, and we need you to join us! The road trip will be the weekend of September 22nd and 23rd. Indivisible Northern Nevada is hosting us, and they may be able to help us find lodging and give us some ideas of fun activities to do when we’re done canvassing.

This is your chance to make a difference and have a good time in one action-packed weekend. If you’re interested, please send an e-mail to this address. No need to commit now; we just want to know how many are interested.

California Away Team

Of course, there’s always a need for volunteers a little closer to home, too. California Away Team is a simple and effective way to ensure that Democratic voters turn out this fall. They’re working hard in District 7 (Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Carmichael) and also in District 4 (Roseville, Auburn, El Dorado Hills), and they need your help.

Visit their website for details on how you can get involved.
